Sometimes potential startup clients ask if I can execute on another company's content strategy. Their logic is, it's working for them so that's what we need to do.
Regularly I explain that it's more important than ever for companies to develop unique content strategies; custom-made solutions that will only fit their business goals, their unique value proposition, their audiences.
Content strategy's the same for small companies as it is for big brands. In advertising, each agency has its own template for creative briefs so that clients' goals are met through their lens with their methodology. Each agency's work comes out different. And as a consultant, for every client I work with, I apply my own strategies to develop the best solutions that will only meet the goals of the one business its made for.
So instead of copying business and methodology solutions, I'd rather build success by guiding each company to find its own path to stand out and not be like the rest. So each company gets its own content strategy to build the authority, trust and engagement that feeds the business.
